Labor Day Weekend Events at Bass Lake and Yosemite Valley
August 31st - 8am
Willow Creek Run: 5k and Half Marathon
Join us for a scenic run at Bass Lake, going up Willow Creek. Enjoy the fresh mountain air and beautiful surroundings.
5k Entry Fee: $65 (25 participants): 3.1 miles 600 feet elevation gain
Half Marathon Entry Fee: $125 (15 participants)
-$200 Prize Race Entry Half Marathon : $75 goes into a prize pot for first place ($750 total prize). Limited to 10 participants.
medical forms are required at Lupine camp site #64 before race day
Race Details:
No on trial aid stations, bring your own water carrier and food. Race Volunteers will be able to provide minimal aid. So be prepared. LNT (LEAVE NO TRACE) or better than you left it. Bonus for picking up trash during the race to pack out and throw away at the finish line.
Snacks provided at the end (oranges, pickles, bananas).
Free Swag bags retailed over $65.00 will be handed out the day before at the campsite Lupine Site 64. Stickers, full size Dragons Fire Pain Relief Balm, and more.
Day of parking available at the site or across the street. Arrive early! Plan for holiday traffic / parking.
Look for Dragons Fire banners.
10% of all proceeds go to Sierra Club donations.
Race tracked via app with volunteers at turn-around points to ensure proper completion. More details at expo day before.
Check weather, plan clothing, gear, etc as needed.

September 1st - Yosemite falls 7am - $50.00 (includes park entrance, shuttle, guided hike, donation to Sierra Club)
Yosemite Falls Hike: Moderate 7.2 mile hike, 2,425ft elevation gain
Entrance to park before 5am to avoid road and trial traffic
Experience the majestic Yosemite Falls on a guided hike.
Event Details:
Bring water and wear lug-soled shoes.
Dress appropriately for the weather.
Meet at the Lupine camp site 64. Will carpool in to avoid additional park fees and permit restrictions.
Volunteers Needed!
We need volunteers to help manage the events. As a token of appreciation, volunteers will receive a free campground spot from Thursday to Monday at Bass Lake.
Volunteer Tasks:
Stay on the trail (not running).
Manage runners to ensure they do not get lost.
Stand at turn-around points.
Help remove trail tags/trash at the end of the race.
Co-lead the Yosemite Falls hike and assist with any additional needs.
Limited to 4 Volunteers (filling up)
